Winter Meets - Peterborough

Much as I hate to say it, winter is not far off and the social side of biking tends to die for a few months. If anyone in the Peterborough area (or anywhere else if people want to travel) is interested I'm setting up a fortnightly meeting of BM members at a central Peterborough pub. The pub is to be confirmed but will be central to public transport for those who want a few drinks. First meeting is Wednesday 26th October and will probably alternate between Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons on a fornightly basis. If there's enough interest I'll get Sandi to add this to the calender.

You can get a train from Brum to Peterborough BJ. You going to come and visit us one evening? The pub I have in mind is only a couple of minutes walk from the train station.

Be good to see you there Elliemay. I'm working on an Easter event in rural Norfolk so hopefully they'll be something coming your way next year.

Ok, now I've recovered from the Autumn Camp, on with the social meets over winter. The first meeting will be on Sunday 30th October at 1.00 pm. in the Brewery Tap, Westgate, Peterborough. This is purely a social get together with members in the Peterborough area for a chat and a drink or several to while away the winter months. The venue has been chosen specifically as it's close to the bus and train stations for those who want a few drinks without driving, or more to the point, don't want to come out on bikes on the icy roads. There's no parking at the pub but King Street provides free parking for bikes with a secure rail to lock the bike to, and Queensgate is opposite for car parking. Hope to see a few of you there. If you need any further info feel free to message me.

Thanks Sandi. I did receive some initial PM's showing an interest when I first posted the idea hence the reason I submitted it. I just needed to get the Autumn Camp out of the way before I concentrated on this.

Yep, 2 1/2 hr drive each way. I did it in 2 1/4 a couple of times but it took nearly 3 a few times... Not sure which is worse the A605 or the M6 at rush hour!!

PML Simon it's not statutory a minimum of 5, for an event to be added to the calendar, just means that I don't have to do a load of editing of events that no one wants to go to. I'm surprised how many events on the calendar that no one puts their name down for, and some of the events, with loads of names down, don't have any photos added.
