Absolutely Wills
You can't leave new tyres unscrubbed
They might develop a hard skin
Then they'd take AGES to scrub in
And you'd be gone for hours n hours
Wouldn't want that would we
Sadly I've done nowt on mine today
For the first time in 35 years I'm unemployed and car-less, so filled in all the jobseekers stuff on line last week. Appointment at job centre today so donned all wet weather gear and rode into town. Spent 3/4 hour repeating all the info I'd already given on line, signed a couple of documents, then they said: "your signing day will be wednesday, you've got to come back tomorrow to sign on!" "Can I sign today and you save it until tomorrow?" "Oh no, we can't possibly do that!" I won't even know if im going to get anything for 2 weeks! Just one compensation, the interviewer was very pretty ;-)
I had a 3 hour bike lesson on a pink and white (so my colour) gladius! Did lots of exercises for my MOD1 test but it was so windy and raining, Iam very proud that I didn't cry off! Lol
got wet mmmmm that y i dont ride all year round i forgot how to you the windsheld wipers on a bike i was lank singing the wipers on the bus with actions
Popped along to my local MOT test station to book my Baby in for her MOT
He "advised" me that the rear tyre was "on the limit"
So a wheel change this afternoon while I'm giving her the "once over"
Then she should sail through tomorrow
Unless he finds something I've missed
Couple of errands first thing, then blast across S Yorkshire to the near edge of the Peak District. Biker's diet lunch at Grindleford station cafe - I was the only biker there, with a few walkers. Had the log fire all to myself. Sun stronger when I came out so bimbled off up the Derwent Valley to see the dams that the Dambusters used for practise. It was beautiful up there, if a little cool still in the shady bits. I've been to the real Mohne Dam, it's much bigger than these. I've put an album of pics on my profile if anyone's interested, hope this works?: <http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/sites/bm/myaccount/photos/gallery.asp?albid=8329>
Moehne dam used to be a favourite meet for bikers years ago... great sight but they moved up the eder dam instead and it all went a bit dead at the moehne... shame... great place to go and its maaasssive lol
We just stopped for a look one year on the way to Austria. Off ferry at Rotterdam, did Arnhem in the morning, Mohne Dam in the late afternoon, then B&B at the Warsteiner Brewery which is 'just down the road' :-) Looking for some pics for comparison, but can't find yet.
Found one - a still clipped out of a video slideshow I made on the trip - added to the album with today's others for comparison. The practise flights must have been done in a MUCH tighter space!
Today - very windy but the forecast rain didnt arrive until teatime. Did my mum's supermarket shopping (big panniers!) then went to leisure centre for my twice weekly 1000m swim. Did 600 then hordes of kids came in for a school gala or something. Retreated to the cafe!
Took Baby for her MOT and she passed of course
He did remark though, about the front brake
He thought it was in danger of busting his wall mounted spring balance
After that we spent more time discussing the delights of Radio 4
Than actually "testing" the bike
Nice one Shell
It's only just getting "bedded in"
Saw 81,000 Km (50,000 mls) a few weeks back on the little CBR
She's still sweet & pulling like a train
I have it on good authority that it'll go round the clock if it's looked after
Just regular oil changes & periodic maintenance & servicing
I think most modern engines will see the clock round if they aren't abused
But it is a good feeling to see the Odo trip over to a new high
It is nice knowing its all what i ve done on bike but she is overdue some tlc as winter riding has done its damage but hopefully get that sorted as winter project to get her looking pretty again next year
