Was over in Leeds all afternoon and it rained non-stop. Hope the Farmyard Partygoers have got their waterproofs - last year I was seeing people with Yorkshire mud on their leathers for weeks afterwards, and surely it can't happen again, can it?
my lad got some indiana jones lego,,i spent hours last night and this am putting to together,,it gave me headache doing it,,finally finished and it looks cool,,lad got excited picked it up and dropped it,,all in bits again,,i could have screamed,or decked someone lol
Phoning up about renting a house only to be told..."the owner wants a family in there".
I'm sorry I thought in this day an age a single parent FAMILY was excepted. Obviously some people still live in the dark ages.
i had the same thing scary,,they wanted familys or professionals,,i was told no way cause im a single mum of 2 young kids,,,maybe they thought cause i had 2 with no dad in sight,i cant be trusted with there property,,ive been on bridlingtons housing list since may last year, and i cant find 1 estate agent willing to take me on,so its just a case of waiting for the council to find me somewere
Having a really awful ride home from work tonight, got to an island and was waiting to pull off when I saw a police car speeding up to the island from the left so decided to wait for them to go, make eye contact and then go myself, blow me if they didn't just double around the island go down the same way as I was going, wait in a pull in and then follow me, (one car back) I felt so nervous it made my riding terrible and it was all in slow stop start traffic, I even tried to pull away at the traffic lights in nuetral I was shaking when I got home. (they were behind me until I turned into my road) I am sure it was because I hesitated and didn't pull out in front of them when my way was clear at the island.
I had a job getting somewhere to live for my kids, and the properties when you do find one willing to take you, go straight away, and yes there is a lot against single parents ( for what reason I dont know, all we want is to have somewhere safe for our kids) so you got to be about twenty steps ahead of the rest of the game......... nightmare to be honest. I was really lucky, I got this just before the floods last year, otherwise would be living with family, fine we all get along but we all need our space too. I'm private renting still because it seems Hulls still way under pressure to house the flood victims, the council houses available have to be 'bid' on, we have a points system according to your situation and if you have been a Hull resident for so long - unfortunately I moved from Hull 9 years ago, so we are well down on the list, and the more important people get them first) have to be yes a lot of them are still homeless a year on - totally unbelievable - theres still caravans on Howdale road in sutton near my mams and people living upstairs in building sites down below. The waiting lists are unbelievable and like Kay says estate agents wont accept her, I know we are lucky to be where we are and we love our little house - good move for us.....
Big hugs bud XX
But how long do they expect you to wait, I've been on the waiting list for 4 years now 8 months of that I was actually homeless which is why I am in a privately rented 2 bed flat. Now to be told I will have to wait another 5 years plus is ridiculous I'd like to see them sleep on a sofa for 9 years.
