No, it is not normal for a foot peg to fall off by it's self.. can be replaced by your local dealership. Its a good idea to check that things have not become loose on your bike every once in a while, usually it does not happen unless a mechanic forgot to tighten all that they were working on. No they do not include FA training as the course takes the better part of a day. I also used to teach FA for St Johns Ambulance and helped develop and deliver the Canadian 'Wilderness First Aid course'. I hope that we can meet up some time.. Cheers. Roger
MMM - its a lickle Chinese bike and the vibration is LOTS - so I am guessing that may be the issue ..... soon get my test done though and then get a real bike ! I used to instruct for SJA too !!
Quite right Jood
The "lickle" Chinese bikes are well known for "shedding" parts
Some of this is down to poor PDI*
Some due to the bad "vibes"
Lexmoto are one of the better brands & their spares service is excellent
As Roger rightly said, checking for loose nuts & bolts regularly, is highly recommended
Depending on the mileage covered it could be daily, once a week or once a month
Obtaining a replacement footpeg should be quick cheap and easy
* Pre Delivery Inspection
I've adjusted and lubed the chain
Checked and topped up the oil
Checked the tyre pressures
Given her a general "once over"checking all the lights etc.
So she now sits ready and waiting, patiently
For my next outing
Hi Judy Maybe there was something in the mushrooms I eat, but I don't see any saddle/seat for a passenger on your bike in the photo. If this is the bike in particular; I would assume that It does not require back pegs, unless it is an option to stretch your legs back...
no - the photo is a mates Ducati Monster (something I aspire to when I have passed my test !) but I am riding a lickle 125 Lexmoto Vixen so that I can practice on !! Call her Foxzy ! lol
Keep on with the mushrooms - good stress relief strategy
Once had the foot pegs nicked of my bike while parked at college. toe rags, just make sure you locktite them back on to stop them vibrating loose again, assuming nobodies nicked it
Anyway its TL service time, plugs, oil, filter, clean K&N, replace front pads, replace brake fluid, check and torque up all bolts fixings etc, v twin shakes everything loose, general service ready for the Anglesey run Bought some of that ACF50, getting some light corrosion on some casings, never used it before so wish me luck
Mine was a mk1 escort, my very first car £200, TTJ 811H, funny how you remember number plates isn't it, anyway I was gutted, thought me mates had nicked my keys, and moved it then put them back. Did that a few times myself
I am looking forward to this mini mechanics maintenance session that Emzed is putting together - I can do petrol, tyre pressures and chain lubing at the moment and NEED to increase my repertoire !
Off to source new rear footrests - have a lovely day !
Hey Jood thats more than most people can do, good luck with your search for a foot peg, remember to locktite it on, get some from Halfords, and do the other side while your at it, see ya soon
Actually it was yesterday..... Despite suffering
the after effects of hypotension, I was actually quite thankful for the breath of fresh air and a little less thankful for the bucketfuls of rain that pursued me relentlessly from Pembury after I picked up the BMW from its annual servicing. I had to then spend a less than inspiring two hours cleaning and drying it down between showers. By the time I got into my pit last night I was bloomin' exhausted! Happily the BP has returned to its usual 136/79 so i'll be OK!
about to be lured by the back roads to carsington water and all the hill billy country up there will remember to watch out for all the tractor crap kindly put all over the roads too lol
