Well fineally got here after riding round and round in ever decreasing circles and getting stopped by the police and dropping the bike on some gravel but missed the ride but hopefully will be out with you guys tomorrow
Well we survived the wind rain and hail storms today and even had snow on the sides of the road but we all got back admittedly from different directions with only one minor mishap in a car park thanks Steve for an entertaining day and to all for a brilliant weekend
Good Friday Lynn called in at ours in the afternoon for a chat. Only being slightly dizzy today her keys became lost, eventually these were found outside on the windowsill. BM’ers start to arrive in the village from late afternoon so I take myself for a walk down after tea for a catch-up and a beer or three and then the long walk back. Besides the usual reprobates a couple have arrived from Belgium (Philippe & Nathalie) and another couple from Derbyshire (Nick & Lyn), neither BM members but they had come across the weekend on the web so decided to turn up. Shaz set off late and straight into the carnage of Storm Dave and quite sensibly turned back. Biker Bill is suspiciously late due to a malfunctioning bike alarm.
Saturday The mystery of Biker Bill is resolved, he went to Dent! The weather looking rubbish here and worse north I take them on an eastern ride into the North Yorks Moors. Bill was too knackered to join us, Scooter Chris made his usual unannounced appearance and proved yet again that 300cc scooters can do more than you think. Cross country to Roots Farm Cafe for coffee, Osmotherley, over the tops to Helmsley and then to Beadlam Grange Farm Shop for lunch. Then off down Sutton Bank, a stop off at Masham and on to home.
Easter Sunday Sleet is predicted, which could be snow over the high ground so that is to be avoided. Bill joined us and announced his bike was still set on hard suspension from the last trackday, so we started off with a ride over Swinhope Head to Weardale to shake him awake. Allendale, Haydon Bridge, Hadrian’s Wall and the cafe at Chollerford for lunch. An interesting ride, I didn't know my bike had a cold weather symbol. After lunch we followed the better looking weather (which lied, we still got hail) to Bellingham and the A68 to the Errington Coffee House. And it was here Biker Bill lost his keys, after a short period of panic they where found wedged in his helmet visor. From there Corbridge, Blanchland and Stanhope where it all got confused and the group got split up. They are all grown up and will either find their own way back or go native (although they are an invasive species). A couple of evening beers and then Lindsey collected me in the car. Lovely...
Amazing wknd and thanks to Steve for proving wales isn’t that cold 🥶😳🤣. We got to Chester for stop over before heading back to Brecon tomorrow. It was great meeting up with new/old friends, safe journey all 🏍️👌
Safely back in East Anglia after another of Steve H's amazing weekend jaunts. Thanks to him for two great rideouts and organising the long weekend complete with seasonal weather to highlight the spectacular scenery, thanks to Susi for the best bits of the ride up and down and thanks to everyone else for the company. Now to book the bike in for a service before Wooler 😀
