Any last minute bail in / bail outs just put your name down then sort yourself some accommodation.
Petrol The nearest petrol station is a couple of miles down the road at Mickleton, when I cycled past this morning it was £1.56 / litre. They are open 24/7 via a card machine, as with a lot of these devices you'll need £100 on the card for it to work but they only take what you spend.
Potholes Pothole levels are quite low although there are a few on the road past the High Force Hotel. Anyone riding across late, in the dark and at a ballistic speed needs to be careful. That'll be you Shaz 🤣
Food It is a bank holiday, if you're looking to eat in the Teesdale or Forresters you'll be advised to book.
Weather It's anybodies guess. Hopefully we'll find some dry weather somewhere for Saturday's and Sunday's rides.
I've booked a table for four on the Friday and Sunday for Welshy and myself in the Teesdale, someone's already taken one spot on the Sunday. Saturday, I'll be hitting the chippy and watching the Chelsea game in my room before having a beer.
yea the weather is not looking Mediterranean this weekend so i am defiantly going to avoid riding in it in the middle of the night along that top mountain road on Friday , its freaky enough up there in the pitch black lol
Strom, cant beat the chippy on the Saturday night , its always a good shout
The story so far... In an uncharacteristically sensible move Shaz has bailed out due to hurricane force winds blowing him backwards faster than he was going forwards. Naughty Neil only booked himself in for one night and plans to spend the Saturday night with someone called Flossy. Dizzy Dot lost her keys and later managed to shrink her leather gloves. But excelling all the above is Biker Bill who has gone to Dent!
Two new and unexpected couples have joined us, one of which have come from Belgium. If it was a rally with a furthest travelled they would win the prize. But it isn't, so they don't. And there is still the chance Bill will get even more confused and head off to Lerwick...
Wow sounds like its proving to be an eventful weekend and its only Saturday , yea got 10 mins down the road and upon seeing 5.5d temp on the dash and dropping it was already far enough for my nuts to shrivel up and make a hasty run for it back home especially seeing the biggest darkest angriest looking cloud i have seen in a long time looming over me , old age must defiantly be kicking in as in my younger days that would have looked more fun and challenging than anything else although i think i will add another event or two to make up for this lost one
Hope Naughty Neil has a fun night, how do you shrink gloves ? didn't even think this was possible especially in the cold, The legend the myth that is Biker bill , dam is Dent near the lake district ? its the wettest place in the UK , not sure going there with a storm incoming would be ideal but hope he and his bike are ok and he finds his way back ok , Hope the Belgium's enjoy there new found company , best thing about travel is the people you meet along the way , Lerwick is nice ,only around 1015 miles round trip via Aberdeen ferry, might be a few sore butts but nice place and a nice not so wee day out from teesdale lol
but hope everyone stays safe and enjoys today regardless of the weather
Ah no bad thing to treat the bike to some of the good stuff from time to time , glad yous all got back ok , its horrendous hear at the moment , going to be a rough night i think but hopefully yous will get a decent clear day tomorrow
