Falling out with my son because he stays at his girlfriend's most of the time these days and I don't get to see him. He's moving away to uni in 2 weeks and I'm going to miss him.

When he came home to pick something up today and only stayed about 5 minutes I flipped. (I know, it was totally the wrong thing to do). He really isn't going to be rushing back now is he?

Suppose I'm just feeling a bit redundant. And if I'm really honest, just a bit jealous.

Ooooh I can totally empathise here, Lisa. When my youngest left for uni , I was absolutely lost and feeling redundant like you. However, by the time she came home again at Xmas, I had re-invented myself and got used to doing my own things....couldn't wait for her to get gone again!!!

I suppose I've been trying to prepare myself all year - got myself a bike, joined BM, started going to rallies again...... etc

But it's coming a bit too fast now. I wanted to spend the last few weeks with him but it looks like he's got other ideas.

I'm going to have to give myself a kick up the backside aren't I?

Having to put the heating on because it's freaking freezing and knowing that the money I'm now going to be spending feeding the gas gozzling little freak could have been spent on my gorgeous wee bike...

Getting a call at 3am this morning from my son to say his coat had been stolen while he was Dj-ing. Went through to pick him up,not slept since. His car keys were in his pocket and he had no spare key, so car taken to a secure unit. Feck knows how we're gonna get it back, probs a huge excess to pay on his insurance. I'm really gutted for him as this was his birthday bash and he was on such a high. And now it seems I won't be able to get to the KISS rally, for various reasons.......... Kin hell, how can life go from such a high to such a low in one foul swoop?
