Yes if I am working on the roof or outside, but not so good working in a plant rooms and boilers room etc.
Do you use tyre safe in you tyres, or is it recommended?
Tyre safe is a gunge that is pumped into your tyres to prevent punctures. Some people don't like it, where others find it good.
For me it has always been the aerial rides like the big dipper , now called lots of other names.
Have you ever fitted your own tyres?
Yes i have, many years ago on my the BSA's i used to run.
No i did'nt raid my mum's teaspoon drawer either to use them as tyre levers, i had the proper levers
Are you confident enough to tackle major repairs on your bike ??
I am on my old beemer, but not so sure about the FJR, probably everything except the engine as technology has moved on, particularly the electronics etc.
If it were necessary would you do a road side puncture repair, or call someone out?
I usually prefer teh smaller mcc ones bt last year it was the ~HArley Riders of Great Britain rally on mersea island... it was amazing how they had it set up, 3 bars, 3 big areas to sit in marquees or in teh bar, live bands in middle bit with dancing etc, disco in other bit with dance floor, outdoor sitting bit with all diff foods, showers, poker run ride on the saturday, raffle, custom show with live music, the usual stalls selling stuff, and bar open serving till last man standing which ws us lot at about 4am each morning
best rally i ever been to that was
and this year im cant wait for the Thunder in the Glens
sausage and mash or sausage and chips?
sausage and mash but I must have me peas, onions and gravy
oh and Cumberland sausages
Can you suggest a question..........Oh I know
What is your favorite part of a rally?
No real Favourite part, just like meeting new people and having a great time.
Do you prefer to cook your own food or buy what is on offer at rallies ??
I would prefer to cook my own, but I don't. If there is somewhere to buy a good meal, I will do that, if not I have what ever is available on the site.
What do you find a good cruising speed if you are on a long run?
I have very little choice other than to work until I drop (pension only minuscule)
If you did retire and money wasn't an issue, what bike would you get and where would you go on it?
The only tourer that fits a short arse like me....2013 ducati diavel strada. Then wherever the road went . All over uk and europe. Hire bikes in other countries...NZ, Canada, China, USA, oh just about anywhere and everywhere
can I answer this after NABBED.....I'm sure it will something insignificant though....like the tent....which i should really go and buy.
What one item should you take to a rallie (not including tent)
(in answer to kay's me and ex forgot bung for airbed once!!! pmsl... lukily some his club mates lent us ground mat and camp bed so all was good hahahaha )
i usually take pics of the custom show bikes... then get home and delete as have taken sooo many!! bt i prefer to remember stuff in my mind and absorb it all than be worrying about camera... tho i guess depends if its a "once in lifetime" scenario....
do you get to know ya "neighbours" (ie camping next to ya) at a rally?
