heading outside to see what was making the cattle so noisy and discovering it was they were playing with my almost dry laundry....the joys of living in the countryside!
Finding out from my daughter the sh*te she has to go through at school because people are spreading all sorts of really nasty and disgusting rumours about her and calling her names - and being able to do nothing about it
BM I agree with jp, don't let it lie. Make a formal complaint in writing, make sure the school is aware that you will take it further such as the local education committee.
But "DO NOT" let it lie, make a scene if you have to, make them as uncomfortable with the situation as it seems you daughter is.
seeing my lovely aunts slow deterioration health wise, nearly blind and chronic bronchitis, and not being able to do much to help, i go round shops with her which i enjoy, but i have to describe and read everything for her, makes me sad
had to part with my old transit van due to criminal cost of insurance premiums had the old bus 9 years .... wanted to charge me 6 times more than i`m paying for a 170 odd mph sports tourer with 2 other bikes on the same policy..... it seems all motor policys are going up by approx 40% so brace yourselves ......
BM going to the school seems to be the most logical thing to do, but your daughters wants are paramount and thats the last thing she would want you to do.
just let her know youre there for her (which she does as thats why she was able to talk to you in the first place), encourage her to make new circle of friends (maybe involving something outside of school.
before you know it, it will pass and she will be happy again, and a stronger, more tolerant person for the experience.
keep your chin up xx
Boss Mom - probably not particularly politically correct, but I once had a similar problem with a boy at school. We were fourteen, his name was Peter and he was a bully who went around with a group of his "mates" picking on the other boys in the school.
And for a period of about six months he targetted me, I believe because I was the only one who refused to walk away and let him have the part of the playground that my friends would be in. He never actually hit me, but he would call me names and push me around etc.
One day I told my Dad and my Dad being my Dad, he told me exactly what to do.
Ok, it resulted with me and Peter in the Headmaster's office. But I didn't care at all. I was feeling really good at the time.
The reason for this was simple. There was a bully and the one who was bullied in that office but it wasn't the bullied one who's lip and nose that was bleeding lol! And the next day it wasn't the bullied one who had the black eye lol!
The funny thing was that as my first fist landed, I was suddenly scared as I expected all his "mates" to suddenly pile in and beat me to a pulp. But I know now that they were only there for the feeling of power they had and as their "leader" fell that power disappeared, at which point they all backed right off leaving just me and Peter. And I'm not ashamed to say I took advantage of that.
