Noticed recently that the left disc was offset quite a bit in the caliper. Measured the gap on the fork leg side to find it was only 0.2mm with a recommended limit of 0.7mm!
Checked the spacers were the right way round etc with no difference and decided that after 63k mileage maybe the disc was distorted, although it still seemed straight (measured by eye with a dowel taped to the fork leg).
Bought a pair from a breakers off a bike with only a couple of thousand miles on the clock to fit them this morning. However, before I fitted them I checked the caliper again to find it is now lightly touching the disc suggesting the problem is getting worse.
Worse, fitted the new disc to find no difference. Checked spacers again, checked bearings etc, no problems.
Which has left me a little flummoxed!!
Even worse still ... having to miss out on a RoSPA ride to the Lakes tomorrow which I was really looking forward to :(:(
Only one thing for it .... taking it to the dealer on Monday. See if they can figure out the problem. Shouldn't really complain though, first problem in all those miles.
Watch this space.
(I wonder if Roachy will let me buy a new one .... a nice VFR hmmm!!)
a mate telling me that on monday another biker was taken out at exactly the same junction I was taken out on my bike last year.
Oh the car was in the wrong......yet again!!!!
