Talking of frogs - I dropped a clanger in France. We were admiring a magnificent fountain *somewhere* and Geoff was taking photos as you do and I asked him in rather a loud voice "did you get a photo of the frogs?" I then said, "perhaps I shouldn't have said that so loudly!" then Geoff realised my faux pax and proceeded to roll around laughing - cheers!
I should point out that the fountain in question had ornamental frogs sat in the pool spurting water back onto the fountain and it *WAS* a genuine comment.
(I have the same problem with Chinese - whenever I absentmindedly pronounce something in a Chinese accent, without fail I turn round and there will be a Chinese family just staring at me....)
