Re the UPS... actually it was time based, i had it set to shutdown after being on UPS for 1 hour. I miscalculated... it can actually do about 90 minutes before needing to shutdown.
The smaller UPS for the modem, router, etc actually doesn't last even that long... just 40 minutes or so. After that point all network connectivity is lost anyhow.
So... i have 40 minutes from receiving a warning email to do something about it.
What i do know is that when the power fails now, it's not in my house but rather the whole neighbourhood (I've bypassed all the earthing cut-out things etc lol... shhhh)
May I borrow the shovel after you PP? (for the digs)
