Not exactly sad, but a little melancholy. Today would have been my mum's 100th birthday.
She married late and died relatively young, so never saw any grandchildren. Her younger sister is still with us, though, off on a cruise down the River Danube next month at the age of 98.

Happy 100th Birthday, Will's mum its always good to remember and think back to happy memories Wills, I always celebrate birthdays of my late dad, grandparents, and others, usually with just a smile and a few quiet moments xx

Feeling like I'm the only one there isn't an 'other half' for, destined to be a singleton for the rest of my days *cue violin, cue ear plugs*

Hey Kwak, its a positive thing being single - you can please yourself and do what you want when you want, without having to answer to anyone so smile

I'm one of those people who thrive when in a partnership and don't do so well when not so find it difficult to see the positive to being alone but I appreciate what you're saying Nutkin. I don't dwell on it too much but just lately so many folk have got together it's difficult not to feel a tad envious
