Coming back from Hayling Island and my beloved started making weird noises (thats a technical term ok!)... stopped, rang my mate the mechanic... described said "weird noise".... he said go home (slowly), do not pass go, do not collect £200 etc etc...
Weird noise = drone... misfire....weird drone, louder drone... clunking ish (does that help?)...
Made it home, parked beloved bike in garage.... waiting for mate to come and investigate the weird noise....
Have had two weeks child free, and ya know what? They have been pants! If it could go wrong, it has gone wrong! Maybe I should give up this biker lark and become something else entirely!
Give it up Cissy? once a biker-always a y,know an all that...Tee Cee & Vinny amongst others are all round Harley folk & Tee Cee in particular for diagnosing funny noises(holds a certificate on Harley noises from some college in Nigeria I believe $5 each) good luck with the diagnosis & early repair
Dear Mister Cissystar,
Pleased to be hearing your problem with miss fire. I would be glad to help in your help but my funds are frozen by Bank of Nigeria and need funds to release them. If you could send me $100 I can un freeze and diagnose your miss!
Coincidentally I have a 650 Dragstar in my garage at the moment (bought for my girlfriend's brother) so maybe I can replicate the noise....
My Nightster had a funny turn today - when I hit the kill switch the ignition would die and kill the engine but the starter motor kicked in and kept it turning over! (probably due to the thousands of gallons of puddles and rain it had just splashed through).

Missing the first day of the RV rally tomorrow cos my ex is poorly n can't look after the kids tonight. Got everything sorted today n now all dressed up n nowhere to go. Lifes a bitch at times!!
Taking an hour & a half due to traffic to do the last 2 miles home
I hope its all cleared for when Ian gets to it he has had a long trip to Cardiff last night & back tonight.
Sorry to hear that 2-wheely... But how about trying to turn it into a positive and make a big deal of it another time...? I'm sure she's your Princess, so she's therefore entitled to Royal treatment and should have 2 birthdays just like the Queen
P.S. Not trying to make light of how you're feeling... just trying to think of a way you can feel better about the situation... if it's happened 5 years running, you've understandably built up a lot of resentment over it, but sometimes it's better to accept that it's the way things will continue to be, so we have to try to find ways to make it a positive experience instead.
Aww 2WF I hope you get to see her on the next one, I also agree with Wannabe, make a fuss of your daughter on a different day, I'm sure she'll remember how special her dad made her feel even tho it wasn't her birthday. Well...some of us women prefer surprises / gifts/ affection on days that aren't significant. It means more then.
and a for all who feel the need for one
I'm giving meself a hug cos while I was looking for a plastic bag, in the kitchen drawer, a toothpick jumped up and stabbed me in the thumb Ouch!! lol
Some of a lorry/bus/coach driver that has turned their wheel in on my car (whilst legally parked and tight to the kerb) and left melted rubber and tyre marks along the rear quarter. Won't just T-Cut off as it has left deep gouges and has actually burned through the paint in some places.
didn't even have the balls to stop and there was no way they could have done it without knowing!!!
Lilchick , 2 Wheely & Teecee ..here's hoping things get a kickstart for the better and you all have a good weekend . i have a need to rant right now but when i read this my problems seem so minor .
