Realising after 150 miles of heavy rain that my eight year old gore-tex jacket is no longer waterproof. Felt fine, but a quick up the sleeves check proved otherwise.

awwww its a horrible feelin when you're looking forward to somthing and it gets put back a day or two, but like you say, they're having a great time and I'm sure their grandparents will value the extra time with them. My grandorty going down to her daddies in Brum and her other relatives in Wales for a week, tomrrow.. gonna miss her soooo much, but I'm lucky I get to see her most of the time, her other family don't. It must be awful.. but it means babby gets to see so many people who love her soooo much, so its all good. Just gonna miss her.. and so is her mummy .. but it makes it all the more special when she comes back. I lived in Germany when my son was born, and it was hard on me and our families, but it made the holidays that bit more special.

Thanks Shell ... yep.. i can get my house back into some kind of order.. i might even find a carpet or two and not be tripping over toys etc... But that will all change completely when she returns.. she has quite an extensive family down there ( what do they put in their water??) and she always comes back with more 'stuff' than she went with !!! lol Gonna have lots of quality 'girly' time with her tomrra

The rain. Got things that need to be done, grass and hedges to cut, bikes to wash (you wouldn't believe how filthy they are!) and washing to dry. Come on sun, stop playing silly buggers and get yourself shown!

The weather, just finished packing everything in bin bags, rolled the bin bags in more bin bags, put them inside inside the waterproof throwovers and fastened the waterproof covers on the waterproof throwovers. I just know when I get to site despite everything my kit will be damp. Which idiot came up with the idea of rallying in a country this wet?

Have a good Time Prof I am still in a turmoil as to whether to pack camping stuff or commute to The Upton Blues Festival do to the blooming rain and the River Severn flood warnings just about to check on em again.

How can your stuff get wet with all that lot Prof? We travelled home yesterday for 150/200 miles in the pouring rain (over about 7 hours), still doing 80 to 90 on the motorways when visibility would allow. We had our clothes in one white pedal bin liner with dirty washing loose on top, wasn't using the waterproof pannier covers and the dirty washing was slightly damp where the zips were but that was all. Geoff's are Oxford Sports and and they've seen some miles with all his Europe trips but they are only 2 years old.

You'd think with all that bagging and double bagging that nothing could get through. Does this really happen to you every time? Apologies for the next question as I don't wish to insult your intelligence but is your kit just getting cold, rather than damp? *feel free to slap me with a wet kipper!*

what made me sad today was ,my youngest daughter had 2 guiniea pigs untill today, she has totally ignored them, leaving me to clean feed them,1 kicked it today, all of a sudden she is sad ,has to bring the other into house and spends time stroking and holding it,i think this is just a false statement of her feelings, that makes me sad!i know its not really a hairy arsed biker thing, but i do feel it's a bit false!bet in the morn she'll just be the same as normal ,and not bother with it.

that's most kids for ya ming, fickle. My mate accidently ran over her neighbour's daughter's black kitten. Mate rushed it straight over to the vet but it had to be put to sleep. Neighbour tells daughter her kitten died and what did daughter say? 'can we have a white one next time?
