We're having it now MM
But it may improve as the months roll on
But if not, you'll have to invest in some quality "wet weather"gear
DN the human body is a complex device, weekends or weekdays are only a "man made" constrict on the "natural cycle" or circadian rhythm which governs our inner "clock"
Readjusting it artificially can only upset the mind/body in an adverse way
But constantly changing your sleep/waking patterns is definitely BAD for the human condition
Are you a "fair weather" rider ?
Or a ride regardless type ?
i ride in all weathers and all year tho if given the choice i would of course chose dry days.....
and not too much wind coz it aint easy battlings winds on a nakid bike at much above 75mph and ive done it a few times in the last few weeks!! grrrrr SUMMER we love you you are forgiven come Baaaaaaack
are you doing the MAG demo ride tmrw Sunday 24 June.... if not why not?
I'll be on the Demo ride xSuzix
Rain or shine
DN, I've had all types of bikes from "naked" to "fully faired"
Some with screen and legsheilds
Some with screen only
Some legsheilds only
Most just plain "naked" cos that's how they made em
I find the fully faired Ducati Paso that I ride now (among others)
Tends to "catch the wind" if it's blowing anything near "side on"
Whereas the naked little Yam (SR 250) was sliding through the winter winds quite well
(I did notice a bit of instability in cross winds after I fitted the screen)
Have anyone noticed any difference in fuel economy/speeds
After fitting a fairing/screen ?
My Deauville while quite good at deflecting head winds is truly awful with side winds... scarily so My speed triple on the other hand hardly deflects at all in all but the worst of conditions Strange really. I wouldn't say there's that much difference in size or weight?
Can't say I've ever fitted a screen to anything though, although the tiny headlight cowl on the triple makes a huge difference with speed. Have no idea on fuelling though as I can go so much faster, lol
I fitted a small screen to my Vmax, it takes all the wind off your upper body and makes the ride much more comfortable. Again just makes you go faster.
Either as long as they are QD
Of course if I were affluent enough
I'd have bike for each job
1 for touring with detachable hard luggage
1 for rallies with soft luggage (easier to stow in tent)
1 for just plain "riding"
And maybe a "play" bike for short quick scratchy rides
Yer right Noddy
I am
Now what was it I was going to ask
Oh yea
How much did your first bike cost
Mine was £4
A Norton Big 4 600cc side valve bought it cos it had "Roadholder" forks
Oh and my brother wanted the "new" back tyre off it
He paid £6 for bike took back tyre off and sold the rest to me
First bike - gp125 to play with in the fields Thanks dad
Best route in the UK? Easy one;
A39 from minehead, through Porlock, Lynton, Banstaple, south to Newquay, then coast road from Perranporth to Hayle, dodge round St Ives and coast road on to St Just and Land's End
160 miles of fabulous bends, (very) fast straights and not one speed camera (that I've seen yet) and next to no old bill = Motorbike Heaven
Another go at it.
I remember the A39. Porlock hill on my Honda 50, only just made it and almost as bad in my 1961 Hillman Minx. A good road though! It's also worth the small detor at Lynton down the hill to Lynmouth, another very steep hill.
Have you ever re-visited a place that had special memories and found it all seems so different?
Are you sitting comfortably?
I wouldn't actually change much at all, but some thing I may have tackled in a different way perhaps!
What is the best economy measure that you can take with a bike?
