Shift ending in 10 minutes and not back until Monday, and having canoeing, a few drinks in Edinburgh and the Scottish ride out on Sunday to look forward to.

After a 6-week process of visitor induction, site visit, informal interview, application, aptitude tests, data analysis test, cognitive reasoning test, mechanical aptiude test, presentation, site tour, formal interview, offer papers, medical checks and reference, I finally go my new job confirmed today. I start Monday. Phew!

Getting out in the canoe. The weather was perfect , no wind, and the water was like a mill pond.
Best bit didn't get wet, always a bonus.
Had a huge smile on my face the whole way round the lake, the birds were singing away and even managed to get quite close up to a Heron but my bright yellow drysuit kind of gave me away.


And a bonus I had a visit from my wee pal Sam for a brew before I went out.
