I would like to do that cross USA thing next year. I do a lot of lone riding, which I like because I have a habit of suddenly changing my plans/route. So I don't have to consider my pillion. However when I had a pillion she was brilliant and I hardly new she was there. I do miss her! ( A lot) Ride in a pack or alone?

I've done so many miles riding alone when I was depatching, I just don't like riding with someone else, to fast or to slow i like to ride at my pace. If you done a really long tour would you camp every night or stay in B&B's?

Not every night. At times it's nice to get the chance of a comfortable bed and good showers. Oh and some home cooking if possible. What is your favourite part of Europe for biking?

I have to settle for quality not quantity at the moment, plus my bike is an old one thats not really suitable for long runs. So my max is around 500 miles at present. Do you clean your bike after every rideout?

I'll answer both.

Pillions, comfortable with or without. Rode to Oulton Park for BSB.

Waterproof textiles...do they exsist mine are rubbish and they are meant to be 100% waterproof...I ended up buying cheap waterproofs for over my textiles from Lidl's for £18...they do the job but make me look like a whale

I haven't got any knee sliders, just as well, because I haven't put my knee down that far either.

Yes I suppose so. However at present I only have a solo seat. But to be honest I would prefer not to ride pillion on any bike. Do you feel comfortable as a pillion?

davidneale @ 08/05/2012 05:05

Depends on the rider - always. Some I trust prefer to keep breathing as much as I do. Some are just show-offs and I'll go no-where near them.

Do you go in your car to camping rallies - to take the gear. Or would you rather go without 'stuff' and arrive on the bike (weather not being an issue)?
