Whilst working at my voluntary job this weekend, a young boy (about 8) came to the shop, and said he had been sent by one of the scout leaders to see if we sold a 'long wait'....keeping a straight face, we told him that we were completely out of them.
For the rest of the day, he went all over the camp asking people where he could get a long wait. Later in the day, I walked passed him and asked him if had any luck in his search, to which he replied that he hadn't.
Clearly this little lad wanted to be helpful. At his reply, the shop owner again told him that all we had in the shop were short weights.
This is the best bit, the little boy then said (I kid you not),
"Perhaps if I take 2 short weights and put them together they would do the job"!!! What a innovative mind!!
So true Sandi. this is why, even though I am now back in full time employment, I will not give up my volunteering job. The youngsters are a job and such a refreshing change to be around
Hi Trish x I was lured back for a month by the 50% discount at the beginning of Aug. Biggles, Peachblossom, Magic etc postponed our annual Camp Runamok so I needed a ride out. Luckily I met the chocolate-coated one above and my arse has hardly been off the pillion for 3 weeks! :-) x
