makes me laugh at the number of riders i know who are so good at wearing decent leathers, boots n that at home, but as soon as they go on there hols, travelling etc, shorts, tee's n flip flops suddenly become perfectly adequate!......go figure...................
Cassie sorry to read about your off, glad your ok, bikes are replaceable people aren't, hopefully you will be able go get the bike sorted very soon and be back out there.
Looking forward to you both coming to stay in March.
Agree 100 per cent with Arf about people who dress properly at home then ride almost naked abroad. Idiots!! Add to that scooter riders in this country who think they can live by different protection rules from other bikers. Don't they realise that if you have an off at 50mph (or whatever speed) you hit the deck with just the same force whether you've been on a Hayabusa or a Honda step-thru? Idiots!!
Guilty as charged I was that idiot!! rode from Goa, down through Karnataka to Kerala in shorts, flip flops, embroidered waistcoat and little Kashmiri hat to keep sun off bald patch. The mirrors on the hat worked as advertised though, meant to keep the evil spirits away and obviously work on truck drivers as well. Either that or it was the sight of me in shorts that frightened them off.
Damn stupid thing to do but was fun at the time. I wouldn't dare do it again, next time its kevlars, lid and booots
After the first day on the bike I had to keep wearing the shorts, 8 hours of Indian sun and the tops of my thighs were so red they were glowing. Guess who forgot the sun cream.
I'll certainly second Wills or third him I suppose, my sister in law has a bad scar on the inside of her thigh, pillion on a rented trailie, her husband ditched it at walking pace and her leg was under the high level exhaust, not nice.
image of a brit bikers on the motorway in Spain gouin like a bats out of hell in t shirt an shorts!but spanish are as bad, office workers in suits on big cc scooters on motorways goin like the clapper's,plus scantily clad girls ridin pillion helmets undone if indeed wearin one! guy in weymouth came of in thailand not wearing helmet an suffered brain damage!it aint worth it!!but the sun shines an our brains take a vacation!
Cassie I'm glad your accident wasn't serious and that you're still around to tell us, hope you get your baby back on the road soon.
(True biker? Mmm that's a controversial subject but I reckon anyone who actually rides a motorbike is a biker, so I guess that doesn't include me then Waaaa! )
