Be putting the 600 back in for now got another 750 engine just needs rebuliding, looks like I've got a winter project sorted out. Have to see how the day goes I'll either end up going to Barmouth in my camper or go on the real ale trail in Mold
after lowering my bike , I have now lowered the front another 5mm, I changed brake fluid and bled the brakes again. When for a nice ride out. Bikes happy, I'm Happy
Had a nice ride back from Shrewsbury, at 9am it was wet when I left and I headed south into the Cotswold into mist and light rain to Burford before aiming the bike east in some warm sunshine back to London.
Started work on the XS650 chop again rebuilt top end new pistons, rings, valves, fitted a permanent magnet alternator kit, Boyer electronic ignition & Boyer power box no battery required kickstart only. Day down my mates workshop tomorrow on the lathe & milling machine turning mini brass master cylinders for front brake & hydraulic clutch conversion which I'm also making :-)
Went to local Triumph Dealer to book a much needed service and rearer brake pads, then sorted new tyres out i think thats this months overtime spent :-)
I went to manor cafe today with big Ray, and found the twisty roads very hard, had a few tears at the cafe, felt like a novice again, very disappointed in myself ??
Just ride at your own pace Tab, give it time and with more experience you will build your confidence. Remember to look ahead, don't look down, don't look to where you don't want to go. I am one year down the road from passing my test and the first three months were tough. I had real confidence issues, especially in left hand corners for some reason. But now I have 5 thousand miles behind me I have much more confidence in the bends. I have done a few track days and found that very helpful in building my confidence. I have more faith in my tyres now.
Went for a ride and after an hour, the bike broke down whilst riding. I'm gutted, there appears to be a short somewhere, so it needs a bike doctor to look at it on Monday. I was looking forward to riding to Scarborough for ice cream tomorrow, oh well, that's life I suppose! Am fedup dot com.
Dont worry Tab, Ray is an extremely skilful rider and is able to make extremely difficult roads flow. Many an experienced rider would have trouble following him. More miles will mend your feelings.
Good luck with getting the bike fixed. Chin up youve gone so far it will only get better.
Dropped Street triple off its service and got lent a Speedmaster which is a style of bike i ve not ridden before ,quite enjoyed the ride home i will give it this the seat was very comfortable :-)
