Hi guys,
Long shot but...
...I hope someone can shed some light on this for me. My bike has developed rattling noise and I think it is somewhere in the top end. When this happened the bike overheated to about 118 degrees and proceeded to cut out. It runs but I trailered it home just in case, it was slightly overfilled with oil but I'm not sure that will be the cause. I have checked the cam chain and all is in order with the chain and tensioner [which by the way is a complete bitch to get at]! The next thought was maybe the water pump or cylinder head gasket but not really sure. It has only done 16,000 miles according to speedo. Not sure if this is accurate but it is in is superb condition.
Would appreciate any help.
Regards
Jason, the weather is lovely and I'm confined to the car!

They are known for having a noisy top end. The overheating makes me want to ask what oil you're using in it as they are fussy beasts. Failing that maybe test the thermostat before you start seriously pulling it apart.
