Recently I've been getting a lot of offers from dedicated (often new) members of BikerMatch who want to know how best to help the site.
So here's a list of things that I think are the best ways you can help the site. Pick one or two of them to really help us out.
At BM events, ask a member of staff for flyers/cards and hand them out at bike pubs.
Install the Alexa Toolbar to help promote our ratings online...http://www.alexa.com/toolbar
If you have a spare 15 seconds, send a "Welcome" message to new members of BikerMatch(latest member can be found on the homepage, under stats).
Take a camera to events and upload photos to our calendar.
Install Google Toolbar, it helps rate site usage and boosts our ratings...www.google.co.uk/toolbar
If using Google, and logged in, press the star next to BikerMatch results >
Don't click any adverts for BikerMatch (on Google or Facebook), they cost money.
Bookmark BikerMatch, especially if you use Google toolbar/account.
Use the Facebook links at the bottom of BikerMatch pages to spread the word.
If you use other bike sites that have a "Links" page, please add BikerMatch to them.
Help the moderators by reporting inappropriate behaviour (even bickering) in the forums.
Start NEWS articles in the forums, they encourage some good discussions.
Support our advertisers, like Motorcycle_Machining who help keep the subscription costs down - always mention BikerMatch when making orders etc.
Bump, this is really important. The above things will really help us before the biking season this summer, especially installing the toolbars to raise our ranking.
thanks. Alexa ratings are widely used to judge the popularity of websites, and were at one point the global standard.
However, they only get their data from their own toolbar which nobody uses outside of America really. Which means that the data they have on BM is completely ridiculous, it's nothing like the real stats that Google is able to get (From code embedded into the site)
no it's ok, though the 2 toolbars do different things. The google toolbar is absolutely brilliant! Translates pages on the fly, helps with searching, sharing, bookmarking (between computers) etc.
The Alexia one is just for website stats, tells you how popular the website is ur viewing for example
