Dear members, In a bid to increase our search engine reputation, I'd like to ask you to consider joining our affiliate scheme and earn 20% commission on all your referal's contributions. You don't need your own website to take advantage of this scheme, just commitment to promoting BikerMatch around the internet. On facebook and other forums for example. The links into BikerMatch will do wonders for our Google reputation for example, whilst at the same time driving direct referals to us. For full details, please visit the affiliates section... http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/sites/bm/affiliates/join.asp Thanks for your support ~Matt

indeed mate, we have loads of little business cards. A few of the mods have them stashed at home. PM me your full name/address and how many you want.

Lob some my way Matt - I've got shows the next 2 weekends, so I can pop them on the stall. Do you still have my address? It'd hopefully have a chance to arrive by Friday.

I'll do the affiliate thingy and pop a BM link on when I finally get the website under way - cash flow is sadly still severely negative!

what's really important right now though is driving internet traffic to us. For some reason our google rating has really dropped, and I desperately need to get it back up again. Please try to post our link on other sites like facebook and other forums. Get folks talking about it. Try starting a discussion about sites such as our and then dropping in a 'suggested link' lol, that's what i used to do.

That's surprising because there seems to be a real influx of new members recently - keep seeing new faces about - and chatting to them

I've even found a willing model for my soon to come chain mail clubwear range and she's gorgeous!

I don't understand how the google rating works at all - but I'm assuming from what you're saying that just posting the site link and having folk click on it has an effect? If so, not a problem - I can do that easy enough!

WB... google searches all the pages on the net. The more times it "sees" a link to BikerMatch, the more "popular" it believes BM is... hence putting links onto other websites to BM massively increases our reputation. So if someone then searches for Biking Events in google, we've more chance of being at the top, rather than 4 pages deep. Google is just an example, but they all work the same. The reason we have so many new members at the moment is because I'm spending a fortune on google advertising (the paid links at the side) whereas I wouldn't need to if google rated us higher. Also paying for facebook advertising and magazines too which are expensive. Cheers! :-)

Ah OK cool - will start plopping it around in various corners of t'interweb then - I thought it would involve getting people to click through, but if it's just got to appear on pages, that's even betterer

Matt, Ditto. I run a number of web sites, none of which carry advertising, but I understand how the google system works, and my sites are indexed on Google. Therefore, a simple link (for now) (even if it's hidden) will get your rankings up on Google, even if I don't enroll and display the ad... Ok. I assume www.bikermatch.co.uk is the correct place to link to for now :)

I think I'm taking this multi-tasking lark a little too far... I've 10 tabs opened, in various stages of setting up new ebay shops, paypal accounts, email addresses and the like, promoting my own stuff and BM, chatting with a couple of buddies, weighing silver pieces already completed to work out pricing, sorting out some additional items to stock... my display kit has taken over my house, the camera's overheating and I've 3 tiaras on the go... I may commence screaming shortly

Also paying for facebook advertising and magazines too which are expensive. Mm p'raps google rate sites low just so they will pay for advertising? I thought I'd have to ask other sites permission to add an outside link to their site? Like you don't like us putting outside links in our posts on B M.

It varies from site to site Kwak - if you put up a link outside ebay on any of their forums, the button-pushers are queuing up to report you & have it removed! Bless 'em. Good to keep them entertained every now & then though. If you keep doing it, eventually you get suspended. But they only seem to suspend you from the forums, not your actual ebaying activity - that'd lose them money!

A lot of sites now, particularly the "networking" types like Facebook etc, seem to encourage the posting of links - they give you options for link-posting, so they can't mind you doing it.

kwak, it's mainly the "Links" section on other bike sites im interested in. Like we have a links section on BM, almost every other biking website does too. So, go through the sites u regularly use and bung a link into their link section. If you must offer a return link, then that's also fine - just put their link into our links section. Thanks everyone so much for helping. Remember that you can use the affiliate system to get your own bikermatch link which you can use to earn money on all your referals!
