so many people have probs with this and there is a program link out there somewhere, had to get the kids to do it for me though, would be good if it were easier to find
Where are you trying to do it from OGB? I find it easier to do it via microsoft picture manager..find the start button at the bottom LHS of yr taskbar, open 'my pictures'...find picture, highlight it, copy to another folder(so you keep yr original)...then find yr copy and double click to open the pic, go to icons at the bottom, find edit picture(looks like a landscape pic)...it will bring up an editing page...down the RHS is the option to resize. Go to predefined width x height, select 'web - large' and that should sort it...
If its any other editing software thingy, i have no idea how to do it...sorry
TM - that's just gonna confuse them more.
I've put the SIMPLEST of programs into the HELP section, it's the easiest one i can find.
I've even written a guide with screenshots for it, also in the help section.
I've done everything except wipe everyone's arse :-)
Microsoft do a pro gramme called image resizer it is part of the XP powertoys.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/...rtoys.mspx
on the right hand side of the page there is a list of toys you can download. Scroll down and look for image resizer.exe download and run it. once you have run it, highlight the picture or pictures you want to resize then right click and select resize image.
A window will open up and you select the size you want. i usually select 1024 x 768 . once you have run the resize tool you should have a duplicate image with the word large medium or small in the file name.
Easier than falling off a tram.
I'd go along with the Windows Powertoy approach, it's really easy-peasy. If you enter image resizing windows vista into Google any number of free resizing programmes come up which look as if they work just the same way as the Windows Powertoys version, though I haven't tried them. Don't know about falling off a tram though - maybe at the next Matlock meet we should pop up the road to the tramway museum at Crich for some practical tests?
hehe glad u like that julie.
And XL - it's about time someone noticed that! Mods can't edit them either! Ah the power.
Nice one on the resizing suggestions. There really are loads of options. U can even use Microsoft Paint if u must, to simply scale down the image. It's such an easy thing to do.
Rotating too - thats easy.
One, and by the way... the maximum size that the site ever uses when DISPLAYING your pic is 570x570. On a weekly basis I take all the fotos that have been uploaded and i resize them. So if you upload a load of large images and find you've no space left, give it a few days and ull find uv loads free again. When I've finished with them, they're about 60kb each max.
