Yep.... have seen some wonderful creations over the last few days.
Beautiful works of art but totally impractical to wear...
Lots of 'Emperor's New Clothes' happenings.
ah the old predujices still abound, some of my lady friends visit Ascot an they aint posh!!![local knockin shops day out!!] when i went fox huntin i was called a upper class twat by a sab, councill estate background me!!!posh!!!i say yu there tc my man fetch my horse!!an be quick about it!
*doffs cloth cap to tm..* yessir.... and then if I could trouble you for a sip of water..... I haven't drank in 3 days...
I have also weedled myself into some of these 'posh' does... (I scrub up well, apparently).... amazing from a people watching point of view!! (One of my favourite past times). Some amazing characters... and those people know how to party once the bolly takes effect!
The last time I went to Ascot the wait for the toilets was hours, so I told them I just had to wash my hands and cut the line. Obviously the only thing I could do when I got inside was pee in the sink. Well when you have to go......
Only wore a hat once, hated every minute but I was meeting Liz and Phil at their gaff and the invite said posh frock and hat. If Liz says posh frock and hat then so be it.
She does do a good nosh up tho', credit where credit's due.
Hat's still on the top shelf of my wardrobe if anyone needs one for a wedding!!!!!
Cheeky Liz & Phil were off gallivanting in the States when we went, so we just had to put up with Chas.
& what's more, no nosh! Not so much as a cuppa!
Cheeky devils... fortunately, having a paralysed Dad in tow means you can queue-jump for the official photographers, so we abused that right mightily and went home for fish & chips, washed down with Champers ;o)
So remember that if you're ever on the honours list - take yer own refreshments! And a portaloo! Hehehe!
I must have caught 'em on a good day then 'cos we had air conditioned loos and iced coffee!
Obviously Chas doesn't entertain as well as his Mum and Dad!!
