I know this is a year away almost as it is always run in the bank holiday weekend at the end of August. but just wondering if any body would be interested in racing in next years event?
If you haven't go karted before than this probably isn't really for you - as its quite intensive and you can get a few little bumps (rubbin's racing etc) now and again.
However if you do enjoy go karting then you will probably love this.
Expect prices to be around 900 quid for a team for the basic hire kart , or if you want a clubman-hire kart it was around 1200 quid this year. (although I know I am pretty fast around the circuit - I also know I can't compete with 8 - 9 stone drivers so why spend the extra 300 quid ??)
Price includes Hire of twin engined kart, all fuel needed for the event, and change of tyres, and servicing (when pit window opens). Also 2 hours practice/qualify the morning of the event.
Ideally you would be looking for between 4 to 6 drivers, 4 drivers is hard work but possible, whereas 6 takes the strain off someehat and gives more chance to kip. There is no limit on the number of drivers in a team, but its a toss up between track time vs cost and your own endurance,
I expect that I will be racing with clubcento again in 2012, but am happy to help out if any fellow BMers want to race. If there is enough for at least one team (dare we hope 2?). Even if there are not enough people from BM to make up a team - if you are still interested then I'm sure we may be able to find a couple of places in our clubcento team(s).
Like I said, I know its early, but may make it easier costwise to spread it throughout the year.
On a slightly easier option - there are also plans to run an ironman race in the Spring - which is the same zip karts, but an hour race - 20 mins to qaulify then 40 minutes race. usually around 25 drivers so if you fancy that then either reply in this thread or PM me for details.
