That's an example of being decisive and going for it that we could all follow! I've still got the buzz after over 25 years. OMG what have I admitted to?
Welcome on board Andy.

Having been a member for a few weeks, I thought it time I said hello instead of lurking in the shadows.

I've been riding bikes for over 33 years and used to be a lobbyist for a riders' organisation which may explain why my posts can be longish! The work had taken over my life so leaving it and joining BM are attempts to get my life back. My other main idiosyncrasy is that I don't like PCs and prefer Macs although I have to use a PC for work.

I'm currently off work with a dislocated shoulder after coming off a week ago last Sunday. I don't really know what happened since I wasn't even in a rush and had almost come to a halt at the approach to a roundabout.

Anyway, I hope even the discussion of controversial subjects remains friendly - unlike some forums to which I subscribe.

Welcome on board Jehammer and Cataraptor. It's a long time since I went drinking in Wakefield - had friends out there - but I recall it as a good place to go out on the lash.
Cataraptor I know what you mean. I'm on some other non-bike forums and it's amazing how downright nasty some people can be to those who don't have their level of knowledge or simply disagree with them.
Trouble with Macs is that they won't let you use emoticons on this forum. Ho, hum...

Welcome noobs. My other main idiosyncrasy is that I don't like PCs and prefer Macs although I have to use a PC for work. How much do you charge for pearls of Mac wisdom Cata? I use a Mac... well, I say "use"... it's sat on my table and I faff around with t'interweb and photos on it... but that's about as far as I've got!

Wannabe @ 14/10/2008 14:06

Thanks for the welcome.

I just spent some time drafting a comprehensive reply to Wannabe regarding my experience of Macs and on trying to post it, it appears to have disappeared into the ether. There were no rude words or personal attacks so can whoever has got it, please post it, send it back to me so I can PM it to Wannabe or forward it to her yourself.

If this doesn't work, in summary of what I said about Macs: I am not an expert. If you want to attach files or receive attachments by e-mail get Microsoft Office for Mac; download Firefox as your main web browser in place of Safari, get a more comprehensive photo suite programme than i-photo and sign up to Photobucket to post your photographs on most forums. And keep the faith with Macs - they're easier to use than PCs and don't have the same virus problems.

Watch out for more posts elsewhere on these forums in the future.

sign up to Photobucket Photobucket is ok until the owner MOVES the pic that they posted, then you just get a box of text saying the photo has been moved or deleted.
