Reading that reminded me of the 'postcard to mother' from an Irish son.
...Granda is settling into his modern flat nicely ma, he got a bit of a shock tho when he put his washing in and it disappeared when he pulled the chain. He also panicked when he thought he'd got a hole in his heart then realised it was a polo mint in his pyjama pocket.
