Funny thing was exc I'd set off a day early by mistake n shouldn't ave even been on the road doh!
I did say not all about the truckers but it's not often I pass one that's not on the phone to his missus, changing channels on his flatscreen or having a bath lol
I've seen some pretty scary things as well RK! Being up high, you can see better what the muppets are up to in the cab...I saw a dutchman once bowling along steering with his knees eating a pot noodle!! I mean,A POT NOODLE FOR GOD'S SAKE!! Who eats that stuff? lol
Seriously though, some of em do get up to some silly things and it's them who give the rest of us a bad name

Now if you'd have told me he was dunking his bread n butter in a pot noodle, now that's the gaff lol Know what you're sayin about the up a height thing but don't try and convince me you're not looking down into those cars hoping for far better scenery than the road ahead!
I used to go out with a trucker. Went to Scotland with him once. He was a very skilled driver but despite that doubt he ever thought about motorcyclists, though I nagged in his ear!!! used to make coffee while driving, had kettle on boil and all. Thankfully he did save TV till parked up! Still think there's a case for us motorcyclists to improve our riding skills when we can, to take into account all eventualities. We encounter sports bike racers who do come up on us without warning, loony boy racers in cars, sports car owners who think they own the road etc. We have to be so much more vigilant than they are if we are to protect ourselves and thats a fact

*had kettle on boil and all*
There you go Cathy, he's even got his kitchen on the dash lol
You're dead right about the roads though and needing to protect ourselves. I think we all ride with a bit of 'it's not gonna happen to me' so we're not fully prepared when it does and GOOD training instills automatic reactions. How many times do you hear people saying 'I don't know how i did it, it all just came flooding back to me'. It's even harder sometimes for 'lads' cos training is sometimes considered to be a bit 'soft'
multi-skilled Suzy...and absolutely the view looking down is terrific at times , what about the good ladies at peak hour sorting their makeup , could write a book on that one !

Must be awful looking down their tops while they're distracted in their mirrors and really wanting to stop them and remind them about the error of their ways, purely on the grounds of road safety of course! Must be a difficult decision, bet you'll put the kettle on and have a bath while you're thinking about it, I'd hate your job
Well not sure what went on in thread here but I believe when riding on bike be aware of all eventualities. Have shouted at people in cars and the like on their mobiles, applying lippy etc and nearly been attacked for doing so by car/4 x4 drivers! Makes you think but will never stop doing it for m/cycle rights!!

Know i'm on thin ice here C but do we have the right to wobble through the middle of traffic putting everyones cars at risk from bar ends and panniers. Overtaking through stationary traffic in town knowing the pavements are full of pedestrians. Making so much noise with pipes they rattle peoples windows. Parking free, getting everywhere much quicker, cheaper to insure, fast as anything on the road, cheap to buy and run, loads of freedom, gorgeous! what was I saying again lol
slowly catching your drift RK , but elaborate somemore i'm thinking perhaps thats why we sh#t off trying to get our licences ..there's so much going for us bikers is'nt there ,.lol
