New to BM, so just saying hi. not been to a bike rally for some time. noticed in the events, storming the castle, tempted at that one, went to the first 3. shame the about the date for roaches, as i am visiting my dad in canada and only a few miles away from buxton.
Welcome aboard to both of you, we're a good bunch of peeps, even if we are mad. There's plenty of opportunity for meets, ride outs and other events, just get involved.

I have a question. I know what the biker nod is while riding, but what is it on here? Kind of the same thing?
Aahhh the old 'What is a nod?' question. This one comes up again and again. I think the general consensus is that its just a Hi, How ya doin?, Nice bike, Like your profile, etc. and NOT a come on. Although getting a nod from someone may be inviting a pm to start chatting, look each other up if you're both attending the same event, or, any number of other things.
Cleared that up then . . . . . Not!
I think its just best to say a nod has different meanings to different people, its up to you to find out!

Welcome aboard BM, there's plenty to do with it all listed around the site. The best advice I can offer is just wander round the site so to speak, look at the forums for meets and ride outs and general chat (Oh you've already started doing that), investigate the events page for other things that are going on.
Okay not exactly a Newbie but it's the easiest way to let you all know I'm back...Probs with the bike(nowt new there) Paypal screw-up, lost both my job & my dad(May bank hol week)....But I can smile again.....Elliemay by my side through it all I couldn't have had better suppport...Anyone going to the Reepham weekend in Norfolk-see you there otherwise K.I.S.S RALLY (Just bought the tickets)....Shiny side up folks, catch you all somewhere ...

If you see an event you'd like to go to, on the events calendar, put your name down.

If no event in your area you could arrange your own. Post the event in the event forum...

...to see if there's any interest, then when you've got at least 5 definites attending submit it for inclusion to the event calendar; that way you have a place to put any photos that were taken at the event.
Private events (those that aren't open to ALL members) aren't included in the Biker Match events calendar so any photos from those events can be added to individual profiles.
Biker Match has its first rally, September 2011, you will probably have made loads of friends by then so put your name down now. Follow the link.
