Matt - I have just tried my same experiment twice now with the same results. If I click on the title of the topic & go into the first page it come up with 1 item loading. I then page forward & the box stays white. If I then come out & just click the no 2 (for page 2 of the topic) it loads up completely fine & the reply box is grey
Mr P, you and shell have the best setup to help me with this. Try the above first of all.
I need you to ensure that you're loading exactly the same page as each other, not just the same topic. Try loading at the same time the same page.
Try also to find what is still loading. There may be a little icon not finished downloading above the text box or something, or a button at the top of the page.

The share button uses an external script from another website. If this script doesn't download fast enough then it will cause the text box to hang until all the javascript has fully downloaded.
I've disabled the share button... how does it look now?

Yup. Much better. Shell and I loaded Page 2 of this post at the same time. Oddly, She got the delay, and the share button, I got no delay and no share button (must have loaded just as you removed it).
However, we did a side-by-side comparison, and the only difference was the share button.
So... she hovered over the button, and the page instantly finished loading...
Think we may be on to something.

Are PMs affected? Its the same code.
I think the Share button is/was causing it, as its an external script ive no control over.
I know my server and internet connection are fine though
Hi matt - firstly - I know that the text box dosn't load up on the first page - but the problem was happening when you went in on the first page & the forwarded through to the next page & so on until you got to the post reply box.
However if you just went straight into the last page, then everything was fine.
However now that you have disabled the share button, it seems to be working perfectly now

It will load if you hit post reply on any page
Matt! Matt! I just clicked on post reply on page 2 and instantly the text box loaded GREY. Eureka!!

Makes sense... a 3rd party server, with bandwidth issues would cause that problem, with you not being able to see anything.
Yes, PMs also affected.
Oh, and page load times have dropped too...
ok i think it was just coincidence HFG... the problem was definitely with the external script.
There must be a problem with their website not fully serving the javascript. Looks like I need to find an alternative Share button.

Kwak, no it wont. The post-reply button just takes you to the last page and jumps to the bottom of the page automatically.
