Matt: where have my tagged photo's gone? I had loads of photo's from events over the past 3 yrs, all gone!
As an experiment I went and tagged a photo to see if it would appear on my profile it HASN'T!
No point in tagging photos if they don't appear on my profile, or is there another way of viewing what I don't see?
Now ya know why I dislike changes, cos they inevitably cause some sort of upheaval.
One change I would welcome and that's if we could view our profile as WE want to view it. Arrange our photo's how we want them etc.
Previously the BM Logo obscured the right hand corner of the photo's so I put my added text in the left hand corner but now the left hand corner has the X to close the photo.
Tis buried in one of the photo album or site down threads Sandi - Matt's working on it... he's got all the tagged photos safe - just trying to work out how to gather them into albums or whatever... the old tagging system and the new photo album system aren't quite compatible... yet
Since starting this thread I have read other posts and I notice in the NEW ALBUMS thread there is mention there of the reason our tagged photo's have been removed. If I had known it was in there I wouldn't have started a new thread.
I would like my tagged photo's back please Matt. Thank you.
'DONT WORRY! I still have them, all the tagged records are still there.
Thing is, when i remake the events section I don't think the tagging system will work with the popup window (When u click profile pics now, they open in a java splashscreen kinda thing).
I may create an album for tagged pics and just leave the events photos... would that suit you?'

Well to me having separate albums means I can put photo's in categories, E.G. 'toons' 'bikes' 'my profile pics' etc in their own album. As it is at the moment I can't move photo's from the main album into another album, I have to delete them then re upload them.
If we can't have separate albums, for each category, I see no point in having albums at all; or am I missing the point?
Yes, I didn't explain it too well there Jackie, my fault.
What I'm saying is if we have to delete what we already have then add them again it's a bit annoying. At the moment I can't add the pics, already in my profile, to another album. They can't be transferred. They have to be uploaded again.
You can't move pics, you can create albums for you NEW uploads only.
The reason I had to create a Profile Pics album for everyone is because I needed someone to dump all the existing uploads. You'll have to just delete them and reupload them into a new database if you really want them moved. A tiny bit of work for you. I'm not gonna spend days writing more code for you to move the pics, when in future people aren't gonna wanna move pics anyhow (They will choose the right album before uploading new pics).
Facebook doesn't allow you to move pics either.
Re the tagged pics, im working on it tonight. Off work tomorrow so ill be up all night programming. Watch this space, wont take me long to sort the tagged pics out
if you want, i can zip all your photos and email them to you. Then just unzip them, put them into their own folder on your PC relative to the name of the album your gonna create, then create albums and upload the files you want into each ablum. Saves u saving them all one by one
It would be a LOT of work to create a move button tho, sorry. Trying to keep the user-interface basic too, you wont believe how many emails i get just asking for general help using the site. Basic is Good for bikers lol

You can even delete your tags now from your photos gallery... should stop everyone emailing me (daily!) saying "Someone elses picture has appeared in my account, please can you delete it?"
you can't put descriptions for tagged photos though, only your own file that you upload. Different table of data etc etc.
I've also added some neat little code to the tagging system, so everytime u try to tag urself now u will get a confirmation dialog box! Should stop us getting unwanted tags all over the place.
