any help greatly appreciated

I may be able to help with this but I'd need to know the KVA required. Does anyone know the type of power output needed for band equip and lights. 26 kva has been mentioned but that's a humongous piece of equipment!!
If all else fails ... we could put Debs on a treadmill ... the power she would generate tring to run away from the dress, heels & makeup brush would keep the whole camp lit
I've got a genny not shure it's output would be enough for all that equipment though...... Plus it's getting it to you without a car and of course back again.
Just spoke to the lead guitarist of the "Howling Mad Ribena Berries"
And their rig is not THAT big and he reconds my genny would be too small, at a pinch may have ranthe stage equipment but not all the lights as well.
He's suggesting minimum you should need is 5000watts output mine if memory serves (got it started it up and put it away never used) is about 2800
Keep me posted though I'll double check my output
(you could go with a few smaller gennys but then whoever is watching them will have to fuel them all up in turn and also you may end up with multifueled gennys recipie for desaster!)
Why have you left it this late to sort out a genny?
500W That sounds very small for a band. When you say a few lights want are you talking a dozen parcans? 500W each. plus there is the over head of all the control kit such as lighting dimmers mixing desks. Are you also including the general ambient lighting for the marquee too?
Find out from the band how many 13A sockets in the wall do they use for all their kit. if they say 2 then assume they will need 26A (6.24 kva by my maths) and you should have some spare capacity. The last thing you want to do is pop the Genny
If you can get me a fairly accurate estimation of the kit you will be hanking off the generator I will make a best guess calculation for the KVA rating for the Genny.
