Hiya everyone, so when I joined BM a while ago I put up my profile photo and wrote my stuff, no worries. Then a few days later I decided to swap the photo for what I thought was an equally good quality picture. Ooohhh no it wasn't (apparently) and hey did someone not get their knickers in a twist and dive down my neck IN CAPITAL LETTERS LIKE A KEYBOARD WARRIOR (you know who you are), so I thought no-one's died and simply changed it back. Now though it seems anything goes, some people have photos that have been taken so far away you need binoculars to see it. However at least that's a photo of themselves, just went on tonight and there's a profile photo of a bike, and no others! So what's the detail? Does anything go now? Do different moderators in different parts of the country interpret the rules differently? Or is it the job of just one person? Of course being a male seeking female I'm only looking at female profiles so can't comment the other way and I'm quite sure someone is on this as I type eh, interested to read what protocols are enforced, especially as there's been quite a lot of debating about possible scammers etc. Keep on keeping on and ride safe, good wishes to all 🤘

Well Ragnar you'll have to explain your post to me (maybe I'm "a bit too thick"), cos at the time I certainly took notice of the line saying profile photos must clearly show your face but that's obviously not a view that the moderator who is responsible thought. It's something that's been on the slide for ages and someone needs to grip it. Btw I would never write that someone was thick, after all you never know someone till you know them. Don't type what you wouldn't say to someone in the street is a good commonsense rule or at least that's what I go by, still different people have different codes by which they live, maybe cos I'm over in NI again I adopt different rules from people on the mainland. As I said you'll have to explain cos you've not answered the question, why aren't profile photos being sorted out? If someone was cynical they might take it as one rule for one and another rule for another.
If you are so bothered by profile photos why don't you take the time to report them to the moderators? And maybe you are not aware that all moderators are working voluntarily without payment beside their day job....

@theslasher, thanks for your input, I am bothered by the photos which is why I raised the point. Maybe have a reread of my original message? I've just raised a point about the quality of photos and wondered why when it was pointed out to me within the space of a day, some profiles seem to have poor quality photos that last for a long time/never get changed. Just looking for answers to a simple question, still waiting in fact.
@welshy thanks as well for your input. I've got to know quite a few females on here and hey like me profile photos don't necessarily match 100%. But this is drifting off course. Just to reiterate in these days of ID theft, scamming etc (which has been a topic before) I think it needs to be more vigorously monitored, it certainly was for me. Btw I am aware that people give their time to do monitoring duties voluntarily, and without them the site simply wouldn't exist. I'm quite surprised at people's reactions to a topic that is a variation on a theme (security) but also part of the basic rules and constitution. Also interesting to see a corunning debate on my point in the chat section as well.
Incidentally I'm on annual leave this week which is why I'm posting during the day, just in case anyone is wondering 😆. It's good to have a chat about this however there's an old army saying that if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem, I'm simply trying to raise a point
The first PM I sent to you was on the 21 July 2021. No sentence using capital letters was used by me. PM number 2 sent on the 15 August 2021, where in capital letters I wrote photos removed for a headline only. PM No3 sent on 21 January 2022, Like the first PM no capitals used And the 4th and final PM from myself, Again with no capital letters was sent on the 22 January 2022. And you replying with the line "No dramas. I think I must have switched them round by mistake when I was uploading another photo."
So it seems it took you over 4 years to wind yourself up enough to start this post over something that didn't happen.
So I'm not going to respond to you on this subject in this post after this.
I have read your post thoroughly and my reply did give some solutions... just as others have given you solutions too... so iam wondering who has not read posts properly... 🤔🙃🫠

Well I'm a bit late getting back to people on this as I was actually speaking to a lady BM member (who I've messaged and got to know over a couple of years to use a quote from yesterday) last night for over 3 hours on the phone so never even logged in. Ragnar like u this is my last post on this as it's just going round in circles, but it's not taken me 4 years "to wind myself up" as you put it, my point was (again) the quality of recent photos or lack of quality (taken from far away, hats on, sunglasses on, hats and sunglasses on, even helmets or just a bike) and lack of attention to sorting this and I was comparing how quickly mine which was apparently not up to scratch (head and shoulders shot) was pointed out as you've backed up with dates of the 21st January/22nd January 2022. Again poor photos are a possible cover for scammers as has been debated so I expected a different line of conversation. At least I now know who's responsible and who to contact, but with position comes duties and responsibility, after all you don't keep a dog and bark yourself. Btw I'm a slow typer due to dyslexia so I tend to go over my posts/replies quite slowly or they can look like they've been written by Stevie Wonder down a disused coal mine, not sure if some people on here are as well maybe they want to follow that example? Hopefully no-one's offended or offended on someone's behalf, but I mean it's not like I called anyone thick now is it? But hey like lots of topics on here it'll fizzle out (there's always the chat room though as some seem to prefer, welche leute sind unwissend Slasher? My 7 years in Germany taught me some lingo but it was a long time ago) and trust me having seen the very worst of what humans are capable of doing to one another am I bothered by this? Not a bit, simply disappointed but not surprised. Anyhow life's too short so if anyone else comments here it'll be lost on me - the man across the roads just finished painting his shed so I'm going to sit in a chair and watch it dry 😉.
