Bike chain lock

Not sure what section this needed to go in, but was wondering how, if any of you, carry a chain lock with you. I currently use a back pack but was looking at alternative options. Not keen on tail bags/top boxes. Was thinking panniers or some other sort of side bags or maybe utilise a tool roll for the forks. Any suggestions would be appreciated 👏

I guess it depends on the size of the chain lock...mines too heavy to carry around so it's for home use only. I carry a disc lock in a tank bag if I'm using one, top box if I'm not and cable lock in my top box too, although you don't seem to like them.

Using panniers would put the weight lower down but all on one side....I would suggest that attaching the weight to your body is the most dangerous alternative, be it back pack or round your neck.

Tankbag for me as the pilly wasn’t happy sitting on it. This tankbag from sw motech happily swallows my six foot abus chain lock.
