Bid to Cut Deaths on Danger Roads<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> North Yorkshire Police will mount extra patrols at accident hazard areas in an attempt to reduce the number of deaths. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> 50 people have died do so far this year on the county’s roads. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Police have identified 32 stretches of roads as having unacceptable accident records and are to target those areas with tough enforcement. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> There will be a zero tolerance policy to speeding and a fast-track scheme to process penalties, meaning drivers could lose licences in a week. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p></o:p>
