Hi BJ,
MAG stopped running it but was picked up by another group called Y.E.E.R. and there was approx 3000 -3500 bikers and over £12000 raised, the number of bikes was curtailed by the police for safety reasons but many more just tagged on (as u do). It is basically the first big ride-out for us Scottish Bikers and is definately on in 2011.
Will prob be doing the Wirral egg run a out that time too ... So funny last year seeing Phil (pagan prince) on his big medical bike with lights going the works! Escorting 2 young ladies at the very end of the run on elec scooters ... Little pink ones , the young ladies in question were about 6
I used to go to a campsite in Eskdale Green called Fisherground Farm, sort of western lakes area just south of Whitehaven. Not too sure what it's like now as I've not been there for a couple of years and the farmer who owned it has sold up but there was no need to book, just turn up and pitch. So long as you were fairly quiet after 11pm,there was no problem.Nice pub just down the road as well but that was sold too so dont know what thats like now.Just through a little village called Boot is the Hardknott Pass, never been over on a bike but quite an experience to drive,it's 1 in 3 and very twisty. The Lakes offer some of the most beautiful and spectacular countryside not only in England but the entire world!

Can't disagree with that Pondlife. A couple of us are in the early stages of planning a weekend up here next summer that should include a Lakes ride out. The Hardknott is pretty challenging tho!!!
