IF YOU THOUGHT UPSIDE-DOWN FORKS AND CANTILEVER SUSPENSION WERE MODERN IDEAS....Never Got Time,so....1951 MOTO GUZZI 250(248 c.c.ohv)AIRONE SPORT FOR RESTORATION..Rosso Red...genuine item, not converted Tourismo model...NO m.o.t. required, ditto no TAX...been on SORN for many years..V5 in my name, and present...age related 1951 registration plate.
GOOD BITS...All there, rare large capacity fuel tank(italian made accessory for Airone)..rare telescopic speedo drive on forks, original Borrani Alloy rims(plus one spare).Original D'ellOrto SS1 carb(plus alternative).engine stripped down, new bearings included to fit, parts books and handook, some used parts.Since i bought this bike, many Italian companies have restarted making good pattern parts,so almost everything available new or NOS,parts availability good and improving.
BAD BIT..piston broke(stripped down for inspection),hence unused for many years,however....been looking on Ebay and internet, pistons sell for about £80-£120 NEW,Barrel needs new liner made up...Separate steel liner type..so no problem....BE WARNED...i know exactly how much restored examples go for,so this rare bike is NOT being given away...Viewing recommended by arrangement, weekends best for me..message me for SERIOUS ENQUIRIES ONLY (i need the space, not the money),for fuller details look on Google for features such as adjustable damping on front forks, underslung rear suspension. When i used on road was great brakes(same size as 500 Falcone)..Outrageously good handling, mini 50's cafe racer, would eat any equivalent British 250/ 350,some 500's too..:)>most original paintwork still good, some chroming needed..will add anything else as i remember them...has to go to good home..:)>
For Reference only ...see'Made In Italy Motorcycles'website...very similar m/c s on there..:)>
