I'm probably going to be looking for something else come 2011, currently work for a motorcycling accessories retailer so loads of sales and customer service experience. Fed up working almost every weekend, for little reward or graditude, (see what made me unhappy today) So if there's someone in or around the Surrey/ Sussex area looking for someone with the above experience I also have some web design skills although it's been a while please let me know, Cheers

Hmmmm Blade...i've just crossed off 'bike shop' or any retail shop from my list..cos I DEFINATELY don't want to work regular weekends when i could be out on the bike! Good luck with the job hunt

Just out of interest BR who do you work for?
Turn One Motorcycles was my shop, the racing accident put a halt to that.

Hi LTGTR, Yes I know, I used to come into Turn One a fair bit, glad to see your on the mend now, We need another decent bike shop in the area, The nearest (you know who i mean) is ok but have way to much clout, I'm not going to mention the name here, for obvious reasons ;)

Nice idea Celtic

I applied for 393 jobs between March & October this year. It's a flippin' joke out there at the moment! Wouldn't mind if I was being precious over it & trying to match my previous salary/conditions, but I was applying for pretty much anything from minimum wage up to £50K managerial stuff, with tailored cv's to suit e.g. No point in applying for minimum wage stuff with a management cv.

Finally got some part time work. Through a mate. Nothing to do with the shedloads of applications I was making. *rolls eyes*

It's a start. & will buy me some breathing space while so few are buying my sparkly stuff

Thanks Wannabe Just hope it helps somebody get back into work, we need all the help we can get these days, Maybe even get some pointers from the entrepreneur's amongst us and go it alone. Best of luck to all who are trying

Well I've been trying to go it alone, but trying to flog jewellery during the worst recession in aeons isn't the easiest of tasks! Especially as every other tom, dick & harriet seems to be trying to do the same/similar.

Still... I'm hanging in there & am going to be a lot more picky & choosy about the events I attend in 2011. And at least I now have some part time work to help prop the business up, so it's all good

If anyone needs any help with their cv - do drop me a pm. It's so competitive out there at the moment, you really need to tailor your cv to the vacancy. The days when all you needed was 1 cv are well & truly gone.
