Please can I draw everyone's attention to rule 4 on our rules page. Members are not permitted to include their email address in Private Messages. This is to protect our members from abuse by individuals maliciously collecting email addresses for unsolicited email purposes. There have been several instances of individuals trying to contact members with the hope of obtaining their email address. If you receive a PM asking you to email the person directly, please assume that this member is only seeking to obtain and sell your email address! I cannot stress how important this is. If you don't want to be flooded with spam email, do not email another user directly (Or at least get to know them first etc!) We only recommend that you first meet people before sharing contact details. This way you can get to know them and check they're who they say they are first. Then exchange details in person. It is best to meet at one of our group events, rather than directly. This gives yourself much more protection, and also lets you meet some of the other people at the same time. Please remember that not everyone is who they say they are. We've had a couple of instances whereby someone gave out their phone/email/address, etc and ended up with either a stalker or death-threats from someone's real partner. Each case has resulted in police action being taken. We don't take lightly to people using the site to abuse others or collect personal data for illegal use. We do our best to ensure everyone here is safe and well looked after. We hope you notice and enjoy the safety of the site, and privacy away from spammers/scammers/stalkers that it offers. Members regularly comment on how safe and well-moderated BikerMatch is, and we hope that you agree. ...So head over to the events page and get yourself to some events now!

Basically mate - get chatting to people first, then its ok to send your email address i suppose. What im trying to avoid is... Spamming shits sending out 300 PMs saying "click this link" or "email this address". Both of which sign them up to spam People avoiding subscriptions. Sending out PMs to everyone you like saying "Dont worry about subscribing, just email me direct at..." Hope this clears it up a bit, and sorry to be a pain. Im sure you appreciate where this rule had to come from. A lot of the initial members left because of one or two spammers (Who use dating sites as targets to collect email addresses). I do my best to watch out for it, but im a one-man band so unfortunately a bit of the responsbility must be passed down to everyone else. i.e DONT email people if u get their email, unless uv build up a trust with them.

PS: Thanks for subscribing, it makes a world of difference. Keep it coming folks so I can invest in more and more advertising. Get the site noticed some more.
