By trade I was an Aircraft airframe engineer up untill 1996. I've been an IT hardware engineer up untill the end of august when i was made redundant for the third time. currently hoping to return to the aircraft industry. It's a lot more enjoyable.
Secretary/Bookkeeper or PA for a living Exc (as you can prob tell by my poor grammar and spelling) but do have an intense thirst for knowledge of all descriptions, especially the English Language funnily enough. No Rocket Scientist sorry :(

Qualified Sheetmetal Worker, Drive a Tug on Docks, Fit Kitchens including plumbing and electrics (to a point) Re build bikes lol. Design Kitchens/Bedrooms. "Fund Raiser", Design and fit motorcycle towbars design and build trailers..............the list is not exhaustive but I like to think I can do all the above with equal skill, BUT I do take my time to Get It Right 1ST Time!!!!
anything to do with the aircraft industry sounds very interesting to me,working to fine engineering tolerances i expect? i was employed by the Armanents board for 12 yrs and worked on military hardware from 7.62mm to 155mm g5 and g6 barrels thats where i served my T&C grinding apprenticeship.
Yep, rocket scientist as charged. Well, more of a wannabe rocket scientist, really, but did my bit on projects like Black Arrow X3 and Tracked Rapier.
High point was my key part in the Apollo 13 rescue. OK, I exaggerate, just passed the phone to an American engineer who needed to speak to the US urgently. But hey, every little bit helps!
Gave it all up for the newspaper business. Besides I was a crap mathematician.
After years of high blood pressure and late nights actually getting papers out on time, the jobs ceased to exist earlier this year and I came came full circle back into a writing role.
Interesting indeed Wills,we had guys visiting various british company's in the late 80's as a matter of fact 4 of them are still on the wanted list for not returning for trial here..something to do with importing gyros back then,you know what i'm talking about no doubt.

errr...currently an IT project manager...used to be a Mainframe sysprog (systems programmer) & prior to that, worked in the Civil Service for 14 years working in the DSS (or DHSS as it was then!)...currently trying to decide what I wanna be when I grow up...
Shhh WB (Electrics to a point) means I can do it but really should not lol. Well not scince it became law that you HAVE to be qualified, I was trained at the local Humberside Engineering Training Ass, by an instructor Roy Cutts (R.I.P.) he was a good bloody teacher it all stayed with me but I was there for broad based training specialist was Sheet Metal Work (gained City and Guilds and Advanced Craft City and Guilds whilest there!)
