Has anyone else experienced the invisible post? Type a post, hit the 'submit form' button and hey presto nothing, nada, zilch! The post vanishes. it's happened quite a few times recently.

It has happened to me but that was because I hadn't clicked "Post Reply" before writing the message. Yes it is infuriating so I often copy the message just in case. Could some of you have forgotten to do that? I can't blame Vista for this issue as it affected me since I have OS X (10.4 Tiger) a proper operating system for a proper computer.

And it's a good thing I did copy the post since it just did it to me!

I've notified Matt of the problem. Anyone else who experiences this problem please post in here so that Matt can see. (copy what you type before hitting the post button, In the 'post reply' box right click mouse and 'select all' which highlights the text, right click again, on the highlighted text, then select 'copy' then hit the 'post' button)

Erm... I've never hit "post reply" before writing my posts Are you supposed to?!

Other forums I visit have the post/delete buttons the other way around, so I usually assume I've just hit the wrong button by mistake.

Wannabe I thought it was my fault, hitting the 'clear form' button by mistake but I made sure, after the first time, not to do it again so I know it wasn't user error.

On windows... CTRL+A, CTRL+C to select all and then copy, just in case. I've no idea why some people are experiencing this. It's never happened to me and I post a lot. In fact, it would appear impossible for this to happen, as when you press the Post Message button it just runs the same code, no matter what you type or who writes it. And it doesn't forward you back to the original page until it's stored the post. I really can't explain in, would just seem impossible. Could be because of session variables timing out. How long do you spend writing these messages? Maybe the site is signing you out because you haven't changed page in so long? (NB: this can happen, but it auto-logs you in on the next page change if you have cookies enabled)

Happened to me too & on PM's too, but like WB thought I had just hit a wrong button. Thing is, if you hit "Clear form" by mistake, it asks you to confirm, so couldn't have been that.

It happened to me as well Matt, but it did take me quite a while to get the wording right on a very long post, so maybe it is a time out thing

As I've had that happen a couple of times, I now backpage the browser, retrieve my post, copy & paste it, then refresh the topic... sometimes my post has appeared by this point... saves accidental double posting

I can't but help thinking that there's this postbox floating around somewhere overflowing with undelivered mail.

As I said before, sometimes I wonder where your head's at XK Probably in the same box as the missing mail The disappearing posts can't be a time out thing cos it happens when I've only typed a few words, and I can type quite fast.
