So after making scones for the first time Im going to open a major debate!! Is it jam on first and cream on top OR cream on first and jam on top?

Doesn't that depend on whether you're from Cornwall or Devon? The Cornish put jam on first and clotted cream on top but in Devon it is done properly with clotted cream first and topped with strawberry jam!

Cheat buy M&S strawberry clotted cream, it's all mixed in!

Well, being a midlander from Shakespeare country, I prefer the jam first with clotted cream on top variation. Mainly because it is easier to lick cream out of the tash than sticky jam.

Scones should be served warm from the oven with (and only with) butter.

I'm not posh enough to know what way you should have a cream tea. It's a cup of splosh with a bacon roll covered in brown sauce for me

Used to love butter and jam on digestives which might explain the high cholesterol, now just the statins.....

Apparently Cheese and Marmite scones are a thing Jinx! There are loads of recipes but I don't have any idea if you can buy them commercially.
