So after making scones for the first time Im going to open a major debate!! Is it jam on first and cream on top
OR

Doesn't that depend on whether you're from Cornwall or Devon?

The Cornish put jam on first and clotted cream on top but in Devon it is done properly with clotted cream first and topped with strawberry jam!

Is that the Yorkshire Cream Tea?

Well, being a midlander from Shakespeare country, I prefer the jam first with clotted cream on top variation. Mainly because it is easier to lick cream out of the tash than sticky jam.

Scones should be served warm from the oven with (and only with) butter.

Just eat it fgs it all gets mixed up inside. Who wastes time examining it?

I'm not posh enough to know what way you should have a cream tea.

It's a cup of splosh with a bacon roll covered in brown sauce for me

Jam on digestive biscuits is about as near as I'd get

Used to love butter and jam on digestives which might explain the high cholesterol, now just the statins.....

Apparently Cheese and Marmite scones are a thing Jinx!
There are loads of recipes but I don't have any idea if you can buy them commercially.
