Merry Xmas everyone and now Xmas is over thoughts turn to travel. Past 2 yrs I’ve got a cross channel ferry ticket and just gone where my nose took me for 2020 I would like to be a bit organised for a possible trip to Zell Am See (Austria) for a week or so in June. With living in Nottingham it’s 4 hrs down to Dover Plus crossing of 2hrs including check in, so not much time to ride once on French soil, so would you stay in Dover overnight and make a full day of travel in mainland Europe or stay overnight some where in France leaving the next day a little shorter to get to final destination. Thoughts and suggestions please

Hi Firebird.
I used to be the same on trips out. Very little organising and just follow my bates headlamp and see where I end up. Kind of exciting sometime 🤭🤔

It's a real shame but I was going to suggest a place (but it's Belgium) called Bikers Loft. Not sure you've heard of it? I've never been but I heard it was a good stop over, on the bike, when going off to Europe and just coming off the ferry. Unfortunately it looks like it could have closed down. Unless someone knows anywhere else and something similiar? Here's the link anyway:

Anyway have a good trip in 2020 in whatever you decide to do 😁👍

Try looking for accomodation on;

www.beds4bikers.com
www.thebikerguide.co.uk
www.motogoloco.com

Alternatively try Airbnb ... I've used it several times and have always found really nice, clean, cheap accomodation.

Morning mate..
Just a thought..I've done Austria a few times and always take the tunnel (from Bristol)
We alway stayed in the Cottage Hotel (booking.com) about 10mins ride off the train..little place but quiet..good little restaurant and fresh for the morning..you'll luv Austria so go for it.

Hello Firebird, it would be nice to read about your travels, if you'd like to start a new topic for each tour you've done? I'm sure it would be interesting to other members.

Because most members get together to socialise it gets a bit quiet on the forums.

You could post your tour photos to albums on your profile.
Wherever you go I hope you have a good time and keep safe. 👍
