Gig Club - Yorkshire

After several recent conversations it seems there is a fair amount of interest in the opportunity of attending local(ish) gigs with other like minded folk within the Yorkshire region.

A small but perfectly formed band of merry gig go-ers arranged to meet up for a gig in Holmfirth a couple of weeks back. It was so successful we decided to arrange a few more.

The next one is;
22 March - Hayseed Dixie - Picturedrome, Holmfirth, unfortunately tickets are now sold out.

Followed closely by;
4 April 19 - Limehouse Lizzy - Irish Centre, Leeds (about 6 of us going atm) Tickets £16.50

31 May 19 - Live Wire - Birdwell Club, Barnsley. Tickets £12.50

If you are missing out on going to gigs because you are on your own and you want to join us please feel free to do so. Get yourself a ticket, let us know you are going and we will arrange to meet up at the venue.

Watch this thread for more gigs. We plan on visiting several venues over the coming months.

If you know any great venues in the Yorkshire area let us know.

So far we are looking at;
The Picturedrome, Holmfirth
The Irish Centre, Leeds
Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
Birdwell Club, Barnsley
The Lion, Castleford

Interested? Then give it a go...

We are sticking to Yorkshire venues but if anyone else wants to do a similar thing in other areas then I'm sure a few of us will be up for a road trip😉

To use a very old slogan
"KEEP MUSIC LIVE"

Well there you go... Great minds think alike!

Although, it's not a case of wanting to "help all those deprived people out". Merely a case of extending the hand of friendship amongst like minded folk. 😉👍

Any suggestions anyone has for gigs n venues for the next couple of months please post them on here.

Let's get out there and socialise whilst enjoying the music! Its a great way to meet some great folk. Good times to be had. 👍🍻

Good to see that there is interest in this from marauder, Lynn and Davey. Hope you manage to get yourselves along to one of the above gigs. Or make a suggestion and let's see where we end up! 😉

Trying to wind down from Hayseed Dixie at The Picturedrome in Holmfirth. Sold out gig, we were middle of stage at the front. Absolutely awesome gig, I'm still buzzing! Seen then four times now and they surpassed themselves tonight. I can't wait to see them again!

Funny you should say that Jinx but I thought of you whilst watching 'em! 😉😂😂.

Next gig is 4 April - Limehouse Lizzy at The Irish Centre in Leeds. If you are thinking about going a word of advice; get your tickets (£16.50) soon as they do sell out (as a few folk found out recently and we had tears before bed time!)

Fabulous gig last night, great venue, good company and a friendly welcoming general crowd, beer not to pricy either.
Limehouse Lizzy will be playing in Sheffield later in the year, at The Graystones.
Yorkshire gig group is developing nicely 😂

A great night all round. Although I must say I was led astray by an unruly, beer & vodka swilling band of nutters. I have been hangin' all day 😲 Thanks guys n gals it was a blast!!😀😂

Can't wait for the next one ...

The Bridge, Huddersfield a good pub with a great band on tonight. Best spur of the moment decision ever. Black Rising, wow! That guy can sing. 👍😁

I've just got in, eaten my "Emergency Bag of Popcorn!" (Thanks Tilpix 😉) and I've got Man on the Silver Mountain on repeat in my head. Top night!

I hope tomorrow's choice is just a good.

Excellent gig at The Duck & Drake with Resurrection!

Loads of real ale and great tunes. Well impressed by the band, so much so I bought a t-shirt, must have been good (either that or I was drunk) ...😉😂👍
