Lakeside Hammers Speedway aim to return to their original home in Thurrock, Essex. Following the closure of The Arena Essex Raceway, which was sold primarily for housing development, the club needs a new home. Speedway, which is a fantastic, family friendly sport, has run in the borough for over 30 years and we believe that Thurrock is still a great location for a new facility and is a growing community that deserves the exciting, top class sport that speedway provides. We have a great relationship with Thurrock Council but we still need to show local decision makers how much support the club enjoys. Thanks, Lakeside Hammers are the only speedway team in the Greater London area and we need to keep all motorcycle sports going though out the UK or we will only have BSB and then for how long.
