I read this earlier today if its true the councillor should be sacked. Would be good to pay the shop a visit so all day all the parking bays are full of bikes and keep it going for months when your ready to leave just wait for a bike to be looking for a space and let them have yours.
I cross-posted the link to my bike club forum - quite a few in Chichester who wrote both to CMW and to the council about it. Caused quite an uproar and got in the local news - and seems to have backfired soundly on the original complainant. It seems that the council will now put 'Motorcycle Only' bays right outside the shop, with no time limit, as opposed to the 1hr limit for cars in the rest of the bays.
