For anyone considering how to clean their exhaust and headers I can recommend Garlic Max 10 bleach. It's amazing, Just paint it on cold exhaust and wait 10 mins before washing it off. It may need a couple of brushings but it's seriously worth it.

Didn't take a "before" but they were shocking all rust coloured and pitted here's "after" from earlier today

I guess you typed Harpic and your helpful spell checker stuck its nose in. But perhaps the supposedly bleached Chinese garlic available in supermarkets would work too. Somebody should try it.
